Acting Head of Programme
Md. Enamul Haque Sarkar has been a member of Islamic Relief Bangladesh since November 2011, currently serving as the Acting Head of Programme. Before assuming this role, he held the position of overseeing the comprehensive development and management of the Economic Empowerment and Governance Programme. This initiative is dedicated to implementing various interventions aimed at ensuring sustainable livelihoods for impoverished, ultra-poor, and other vulnerable communities.IMG_0002.jpg
With over 25 years of experience in the development field, Enamul Haque specializes in rural and urban livelihoods, food security, microfinance, VSLA (Village Savings and Loan Associations), community-led SHG (Self-Help Group)/Cooperative initiatives, and other aspects of community development and governance. He has garnered extensive experience working in various capacities across Africa and Asia.
Throughout his career, Enamul Haque has held senior managerial roles such as Programme Manager, CEO, and Country Manager with humanitarian and development organizations. His responsibilities have included development in livelihoods, microfinance, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), peacebuilding, social cohesion, agriculture, income generation, and participatory community development, which encompasses infrastructure construction and rehabilitation projects.
Enamul Haque’s wealth of experience spans the entire spectrum from emergency relief to sustainable development programs, covering both program portfolio management and support department resource management.
